‘The Grave’ to screen as part of AdaFest

There’s a cool event coming up in Ada, and my character “The Grave” gets to be part of it!

The film “The Grave” will be one of those shown at the AdaFest event in the East Central University’s Estep Center this Friday, Aug. 23. The screening is set for 6:45 p.m. as part of a block of Oklahoma-related films.

“The Grave,” directed by Kyle Roberts, screened at San Diego’s Comic-Con International in 2018, and was named best short film at December’s “Oklahoma Film Fest ’18.”

“The Grave” stars Rett Terrell, Collin Place, Alissa Rose Ford, Adam Hampton, Stephen  and Jacob Snovel.

“The Grave” was written by Matthew L. Price and was based on his comic book character who first appeared in “Speeding Bullet Comics Presents.”

The hard-hitting, comic book-inspired film is a pulp noir-style adventure set in the freewheeling Oklahoma City in the 1920s.  In 1920s Oklahoma City, a few men are above the law. Fortunately, crusading reporter Walter Crim stands up to those who would oppress the innocent. When Crim can’t achieve his aims through the press alone, he becomes the dark avenger known as The Grave!

The most recent comic-book tale of The Grave appears in “Okie Comics” #4, available at comic shops and other locations in the OKC metro and at okiecomics.com.
