Fans are invited to celebrate their Local Comic Shop for Local Comic Shop Day on Saturday. Special items include an early edition of “Amazing Spider-Man” #1000, an early release of “Dungeon Crawler Carl” Vol. 2, and a reprint edition of the Johnny Cash biography comic.
Oklahoma comics authors Charles Work (“PPL Comics”) and Hunter Siler (“Adventures of the Lizard Princess”) will sign comics from 12-3 pm on Sept. 26 at Speeding Bullet Comics, 614 N. Porter Ave. in Norman, Oklahoma.
Charles’ “PPL Comics” (short for “Principles of Programming Languages”) mix computer science with comedy, with characters including Sunglasses, The Penguin (not the Burgess Meredith kind), The Ninja and more.
Hunter Carmene Siler is an Oklahoma-based author who loves creating imaginative worlds and fantastical characters. Inspired by fantasy, animals, and nature, she enjoys bringing these stories to life through both writing and illustration. Her comic, “Adventures of the Lizard Princess,” is set in a fantastical world brimming with magic in which lives the Lizard Princess. Her only goal? To acquire all of the shiny treasures in the world!
Local Comic Shop Day is organized by ComicsPRO, the direct market comics retailer organization, and is an opportunity to celebrate the special role comic shops play in their communities — and to remind customers why shopping at their local comic shop matters.
